<h3><strong>Zai Japanese Freehold Restaurant For Auction
The iconic Zai has traded continuously as a Japanese restaurant for 20 years. It will be sold with vacant possession complete with substantial restaurant fit out ready to trade.
"The building itself and the restaurant fit-out could easily be adapted to other types of Asian Cuisine as well as a superb wedding venue. There will probably be other uses as well" said agent Tony McGrath.
The building was the dream of the Japanese owner of Haba Laboratories with a grand plan to provide tourist's and residents truly authentic Japanese food in a purpose built Kyoto style Japanese restaurant.
Zai restaurant was sold to the Mirage Resort in 1997 and they have continued operating the restaurant as it was first designed. Mirage Resorts Pty Ltd have appointed Tony McGrath Real Estate to sell the asset and have indicated they would meet the current reasonable market value and will set the reserve accordingly to ensure it will be sold at the Auction.
The 1470 m2 land on which the building sits is zoned tourism / residential and was originally subdivided off the lot that contained Port Douglas Backpackers. The zoning may allow conversion to other uses.
<h2>Zai restaurant is a truly unique, iconic and beautiful building suitable for both investors & restaurateurs and will be sold at Auction on the 2nd October 2010, in rooms @ Hilton Hotel, Cairns. Contracts available on request.
